Sasha dolls are named after their designer, Sasha Morgenthaler, the world famous Swiss doll maker. She designed dolls with a dream in her mind - a vision of how a child would look and move in the age of innocence. Her dolls were originally individually made in wood and later produced in series where they were done in full vinyl bodies for children's play.
Sasha dolls natural movements, their soft hair and wistful looks bring special enjoyment - they are also "real". They can be washed and clothes can be changed. Children love them and are a favorite of collectors.
This Sasha has been well cared for and adult owned. The original hair style is still in factory settings and styling and all her clothing is clean and in good condition. She comes with her blue smock jacket, blue jeans, panties, under shirt, white training shoes, red hat and belt. The undershirt is ribbed making it extra detailed and the belt gives a nice finishing touch to the jeans. The only thing I can see is that the smock is a light blue color and with other dolls I see it's much darker. I'm not sure if it's fading or not because the rest of the clothing is dark and in new condition, so I'm not sure why just the smock seems lighter than other dolls and pictures. It seems unlikely that just that piece faded and nothing else did.
She is missing her tag and box, but she does come with her original pamplet which says Catalogue No 18 Issue 1 October 1980. Since this doll had one owner, it is likely that this is the era in which this doll was made and bought. The pamphlet has the original owner's name written on the back. She is tightly strung and heavy in weight, so she's a very nice addition for a Sasha collector. She stands without assistance very easily.
