We offer consistent color choices throughout our designs so you can search by color to see all the wigs that come in that color or by style name to see all the sizes a style comes in. Note that most of our stock photos are of the actual wig taken outside in natural lighting. Indoor lighting will have a different look often darker than outdoor.
Design Style: Molly
Cap Size: 11-12" (Fits newer and older PC dolls)
Color: Light Brown/Chestnut Brown (Note some of the lighting makes the wig look reddish, but it is a solid chestnut medium brown like Molly's original color)
Bangs: This version has a 1980's replica looking bang that is thicker and longer than our last version. This was developed according to Pleasant Company fans who wanted the bangs longer to sweep and style. If brushed straight down it is in the eye, but so was the original doll version. We have made it true to the original style.
Wig notes: We've matched the weight of hair with the original wig but our braids come out marginally thicker than the original. This is due to Pleasant Company shaving more of the back hairs shorter to obtain a thinner braid. We decided to keep the braids as is as we like the more luxurious braid and let the customer decide if they want to shave down to obtain thinner braids. It is also because it is hard to maintain that consistency on a factory production level on the amount of shaven hair and length of it at the back. As such our wig naturally parts with longer hair but still does not show the cap.
The Molly design is true to the original. A dead on match in color to original Molly dolls and constructed in much the same way with short hairs at the back to separate into pigtails in the back without showing the wig cap. Likewise if the hair is taken out of the braids, the hair combs down like a regular down hair style. The braids come with rubber bands at the bottom. It is factory braided and has a nice silky feel with a thick bang. This wig is designed to replicate the original from color, to exact weight of hair, to styling, to construction. We designed it to be a replacement for anyone with sad Molly hair that needs renewing or replacement without having to purchase a new head from the hospital or having to buy a doll for the wig.
Please note wigs are not meant to be put over existing hair and will not fit if you try to do this. Doll must be bald with the previous wig removed from the head. Wig will fit snugly. To put on the wig correctly line up the front of the wig to the hairline on the front of the doll, hold in place and stretch cap over the head to the back. Adjust as necessary.
