Customizing a My Twinn Theresa Doll

When I first saw a Theresa I thought her face was just so cute, but I also could see a potential for more so when I finally got my hands on one, I knew she was going to be a custom. The great thing about this face mold in particular is that it has some great features. For one, are the big full lips which are going to look absolutely beautiful when detailed out. There is a more prominent larger nose and I like the distances between the eyes, the nose length, and the mouth. The mouth as well has a built-in smile, which I also think is cute because she looks naturally happy. She also has a very natural-looking chin, it's not super pointy for her face but it is a defined chin versus other molds that are much rounder in shape or have an even pointier look to them.

This mold - though it's hard to see is a #5 skin tone. The skin looks completely different in different lights which is why it is so hard to see the skin tones online and figure out what shade they are. On the left is more of her true color as the #5 skin tone can be best described as a true brown without tones of yellow or orange mixed in. On the right she definitely looks different, but it's just the lighting and you can almost see a more orangy tone on her face. If you are collecting the right side picture is kind of the tone you get with the #4 skin tone which is often used as a Hispanic brown where as the #5 is used more as an African American brown.

Theresa got a repaint with more natural and defined features. She was given light blushing on the cheeks to make her look less monotone. @DollMakersNotebook did the face painting for me in collaboration on this project.

The smile looks natural and she has detailing on her lips. Her eyes have been lined and shadowed which will be excellent when I outfit her with some new lashes and she's been given nice face and ear shading so that she is nicely detailed.

Here was Theresa's final look. Her wig was not glued down as I wanted to frequently use her as a wig model. I gave her long dark eyelashes and her lips got a little gloss. In this photo she is also wearing one of our handmade dresses. Repainting and customizing My Twinn dolls can make them look incredibly lifelike and highly desirable to collectors.
