Antique wigs are made with a synthetic wig fiber in historical hair styles that are made from composition or bisque styles from early eras.  This includes both authentic and reproduction dolls that embody the early Victorian and previous eras.  Wig caps vary between 3/4 cap and full cap depending on the way the doll's head is constructed. A 3/4 cap wig is a partial wig cap that is often used for bisque dolls where they have a small head opening that is covered with a fiber circle to stick hat pins into and glue down a wig.  3/4 wig cap styles are made to cover the opening only and the rest of the hair falls into place on those types of dolls.  Full cap wigs can be used on modern dolls where you need to cover the whole head.
