About the Series
Dressing our dolls up is part of the fun of collecting and re-imagining our dolls. Beyond the modern day clothing and the historical wear we enjoy, there is a third category of character and imaginative dress-up that explores the out of the ordinary. This series is about creativity and pushing the envelope. Beyond what doll manufacturers release is a whole world of individual artisans that provide the unique.
Participants in this series will be showing a unique blend of their artistry that will include photography, outfits, and dolls. The fantasy and fairytale realm has a lot to choose from, so expect a little bit of everything. Artists will be showcasing their collections week to week with Bbeauty Dolls special drops on the weekends all through October.
As with all our collaborations this collaboration will have grand prize photo winners for Best Photo and Best Outfit. Best Photo winner will go to the individual who creates the best photo of a fairytale/fantasy theme with their doll dressing up. Best Outfit winner will go to the individual who has created the best fantasy/fairytale outfit using their sewing and construction skills. We will also raffle off a few items to those tagging their photos of dolls in costume. To Enter, tag your doll photos on Instagram with #fantasyfordolls for a chance to win prizes throughout the series. Multiple entries are accepted. Entries will be accepted up until October 29 at midnight, Winners will be revealed on October 31st in our final newsletter. |

This Little Whimsy
Hello there, I'm Bree! I'm an artist, photographer, doll collector, and longtime lover of all things whimsical and story inspired. I've loved dolls for as long as I can remember. When I got my first AG doll at 14 and a camera for my 15th birthday, it kicked off a whole new creative outlet for me. Now, the dolls have become my way of storytelling, photography practice, and letting my imagination run wild. I love to sew realistic tiny fashion, craft props for them, and create scenes that bring these little characters to life.
When I am not behind the camera, you can usually find me buried in a book, dreaming up my next creative project, or adding yet another hobby to my "Someday I'll Learn This" list. You can find my doll photography on Instagram at @this_little_whimsy. Come say hi!
AG Doll Magic
Hi, I'm Lauren! A girl with a passion for dolls and telling their stories through photography! Alongside photography, I also specialize in custom doll work, specifically character dolls and outfit recreations. In my shop, you'll find photo prints and custom dolls along with handmade clothing and accessories that help to bring the doll's stories to life. Visit me at agdollmagicshop.etsy.com!
Dollmaker's Notebook
Hello! This is Emily, your "doll maker" at Dollmaker's Notebook! I live in central Massachusetts and have been customizing 18" dolls for just over four years. My favorite dolls to work on are the vintage Plesant Company ones because of their full, round cheeks and soft, cherublike look. I love how they have so much personality once they have been painted up. I use a combination of watercolor, chalk pastels, and colored pencils to make a doll "come to life". You can find my dolls on Etsy at DollmakersNotebook and on Instagram @dollmakersnotebook where you can follow my customizing process and see the little ones who are going up in my shop!
Kathilyn Creations
I've been sewing for over 50 years and have created whimsical costumes along with historical pieces. My passion for sewing has given me great joy. I have used real life pictures as my inspiration for some costumes. For over 6 years my Etsy shop has been open with the most unique items selling out fast. Come pay me a visit etsy.com/shop/kathilyncreation!
