Fantasy for Dolls - Issue 11 Scarecrow

The third addition to our "World of Oz Collection" is here!  Today, we're going to take a closer look at the Scarecrow and how this ensemble was brought to life!

The Scarecrow is the first companion that Dorothy meets while on her way to the Emerald City and this outfit was one of my favorite pieces to make for this particular collection!  Made froma soft cotton fleece, the Scarecrow's shirt features long sleeves and an attached raw-edge collar made of a cotton tweed to mimic the textures of the Scarecrow's wardrobe in "The Wizard of Oz".  The shirt also features accent detailing with twin ties at the wrists, waist, and neckline along with several patches of straw that have been meticulously glued in place to match the look from the film!  The Scarecrow's wide-legged pants have been made from a brown cotton fabric and features multi-colored patches at the knees as well as an elastic waistband and elastic at the ankles to give them a more gathered look!

This is one of the photos I used as a reference mostly, to make sure the patches were placed in the correct spots on the pants!

In addition to the Scarecrow's shirt and pants are his matching hat which has been made from a black felt fabric and adorned with a twine tie and straw along the brim.  Also included are a pair of brown boots from Bbeauty that have been customized with patches of straw atop the foot and along the brim of the boots!
