This is a vintage Madame Alexander doll that has been mostly stored and kept in very good condition.  The doll is detailed and weighted to feel like a baby.  It feels like there might have been a crier inside, but no sound comes out.  The doll is miraculously clean and in new condition. The box however is in poor condition.  The purchaser can decide if they want me to ship it or toss it out.  I find that since the doll is in new condition, the box isn't really adding value unless you are nostalgic about the boxes and can be gifted to a child in a gift box or bag.  The baby is constructed so that it can sit without help which is useful if playing on the floor with your child, but then can also lay down and go to sleep as it has sleep eyes.  Originally it did come with a "white" newborn cap but it is missing.  That is something that can easily be replaced and it looks like it can actually wear real baby clothes if you want outfits.
 
Why buy a vintage doll for a child?  The craftsmanship.  This doll will outlive anything from Target or Walmart.  It is better made and tougher and with more details in mind.
