This is an absolutely fabulous 1950's style 20-21" Fashion Doll by Uneeda. If you are a 1950’s Cissy collector she will fit right in with your Madame Alexander collection as her face mold is very similar to modern Cissy molds.
The back of her head is stamped "Uneeda" and she is a Dollikins style fashion model with the same measurements as Madame Alexander Cissy Dolls.
This is a OOAK creation as her outfit and jewelry were all handmade in a beautiful blue and yellow color scheme. This ensemble we call "Golden Afternoon".
Hair: She has black hair which has been combed back and put into a bun at the back of her head. Over her bun is multicolor beaded netting. She has a front widows peak and has rooted hair.
Face: She's got fine line wispy brows side painted eyelashes as well as physical lashes, corner eyeliner, and a neutral colored lip. Her eyes are an amber brown shade.
Body: She’s been cleaned and has no staining or marks even under her clothing. She has painted fingernails and toenails in red. This doll is jointed at the arm bicep that allows you to spin her arm left to right and then jointed at the elbow to bend up and down and then at the wrist to spin the hand left to right. The stringing through the arm is only at the top meaning that stringing does not run through the joints all the way down the arm. This means that although you have the movement, she cannot position her arm to stay stationary in the air without support. In the pictures she is able to hold the brim of the hat through the opening in her fingers with is narrow enough to hold to the hat enough to hold her arm up. She is also jointed at the waist which allows her to bend left or right in posing and her legs are strung to a lower piece with leg holes to allow her to move in more positions. Her legs are jointed much in the same way the arms are, where stringing is only attached at the top and doesn't run through the leg. So although she has the flexibility to pose she can't hold her legs bent up without support, the leg would have to be bent and supported by a prop to keep her leg up. Despite that, she is still very cool to play with and pose.
We've re-placed her stringing for her arms and legs so it's new and tight, but because she's so jointed and it doesn't run completely through the body and just in sections, she doesn't stand unsupported very well, so we are including a metal stand for display and have included some pictures on posing her. There is an area on her left leg at the very top where it is not completely round for the leg socket and seems disfigured in the plastic for a perfect fit, but you can't see it under her panties underneath and you forget it's there with the overall display but I would say it's a defect in the molding.
Clothing: Her outfit was completely custom made for her. It includes a strapless yellow and white polka dot cotton dress with a lined bodice and a full 50's style skirt. At the base there is a navy blue band at the hem and the dress has a built in white tulle slip to keep the skirt puffy. She is wearing nude full length individual nylons and we've added some small rubber bands at the top as the elastic has failed with age, so that helps keep them from inching down. She is wearing white 50's style panties with lace trim underneath. She has brand new shoes included with her outfit.
The hat is a straw wide brim hat trimmed with blue and yellow ribbon and a front yellow bow. The hat ties are in double sided blue ribbon and tie into a bow pinned to the back of her hair The hat can slant (which is my favorite) or sit on top or opposite direction, it is not permanently attached to her head and can be removed.
She's wearing crystal drop handmade earrings in blue stones and a very large statement necklace in similar blue stones around her neck. A matching statement bracelet is also included at her wrist.
This doll has been inspected and prepared with care to be in optimal/best condition. She will be boxed safely to preserve her condition and travel safely to her new home. She comes with her dress, panties, hat, hair netting, earrings, necklace, bracelet, nylons, shoes, and doll.
