Edwardian Sisters
By Lemon Bay Doll Co
I’ve titled this duo “Edwardian Sisters” as these two dolls remind me so much of my daughters—best friends, confidants and mutual mischief makers! Even now, as late teen/early 20-somethings, you will find these two hand-in-hand, giggling and plotting some wonderful adventure. As a day at the fair would have been a fun Edwardian summer event, we will imagine these two heading to town for cotton candy, game booths and giggles at the annual summer event. The first of these ensembles is a romantic floral stripe in pink, cream, and red. The ensemble includes a cotton drop-waist dress, accented with lace, buttons, and a separate square collar with lace
yoke, braided trim and buttons. Accessories include a pendant necklace, red silk hairbow, overthe-knee stockings and a pair of Edwardian Cut out Boots in Burgundy/Red by Bbeauty Dolls.

The second “Sister” wears a beautifully textured silk shantung drop-waist dress with a two-layer skirt: an overskirt of silk and an underskirt of lace. This ensemble includes the dress with a separate pointed collar, detailed with a lace yoke.
Over-the-knee stockings and a pair of Edwardian Cut out Boots in White by Bbeauty Dolls dress up the lower half of this ensemble, and a giant Edwardian inspired hairbow made of white silk taffeta tops off the set.

I’ve had many people ask me if bows this size aren’t a bit of an exaggeration. Well, no, not really! You needn’t look far to find historical examples showing just how big Edwardians liked their bows.

These beautiful outfits were made using my Pollyanna pattern. Please visit my Etsy store to purchase the Pollyanna pattern if you wish to make your own dress in this style.
