A Stitch in Time's Line is owned and operated by Ava Smith. It was easy to become fast friends with Ava as she follows the same great attention to detail in heirloom sewing and also offers her own patterns as well. It was like welcoming another member of the family and we absolutely love doing collaborations with her. Ava creates stunning pieces of art with her heirloom sewing. She has talents in styling and bringing whole looks together that are beautiful and impressive.
Bbeauty Dolls is often collaborating with Ava and her company A Stitch in Time's Line. Ava is an active user of many of our historical wigs and shoes to compliment the outfits that she sews for 18" dolls. Ava is always full of ideas and working on projects with her and upcoming collaborations is such a joy. She is full of positive energy which makes it exciting to work with her.
About A Stitch in Time's Line:
Ava’s doll sewing journey began at ten years old when she hand sewed her first colonial dress from a McCall’s Crafts pattern and gave it to her best friend for her Felicity. Over the next several years she continued to enjoy making doll clothes and accessories as gifts for family and friends. The concept of an Etsy shop for 18” historical doll fashions grew organically out of that hobby and her love of classic literature and period dramas. Ava has made outfits ranging in time period from the Renaissance to the 1950s with Regency and Victorian fashions being some of her most popular offerings. She focuses on fine craftmanship, combining quality materials with attention to detail to produce one-of-a-kind collector worthy dresses and ensembles. Today Ava’s shop, “A Stitch in Time’s Line,” has over five hundred sales, hundreds of five-star reviews, and a loyal customer base. She is now working on expanding her business to include sewing patterns, with two currently published, and more to come.
