Meet the White Rabbit: Kathilyn Creations' Alice in Wonderland outfit for 18" dolls

The White Rabbit is the second reveal in our Halloween artist collaboration with Kathi Martin of Kathilyn Creations. Here is Kathi in her own words.

So much research goes into each piece and my starting point is normally Pinterest. There is such a vast range of data to choose from. The book itself was another source of information. I wanted the white rabbit to have his own unique look so down the rabbit hole I went.

With red silk dupioni for the long coat and clock fabric for the lining I had my vision. I found vintage looking gold buttons that brought the colors together.

In keeping with that I wondered what to use for the waistcoat. Going through materials I found some gorgeous red and black damask which was the right scale and colors I wanted.

The shirt needed to be a lightweight cotton, in white of course. I went with a long sleeved ruffled shirt and stock that the white rabbit might have found fashionable. The knickers were done in a black raw silk with a faux fly front and button.

The white rabbit needed shoes. At bbeautydolls.com I found the perfect pair, red colonial historical shoes with a matte finish and rhinestone buckle. They fit over the socks without having any issues. His wig also came from bbeautydolls.com. It's Constance in winter white. I don't believe I've ever had a softer wig than this one. I am so impressed on how it hasn't tangled with all that I've done with it. It's just what I needed.

The rabbit would always have a pocket watch so I created one with spare pieces I had. It attaches onto his inside pocket with just a clip.

His mask was a bit of a challenge, deciding on the look that would work. As with anything else it's a trial and error process. In the end I was pleased with how it turned out.
