This is for an inspired version of Patti Playpal's 1960's play dress featured in an Ideal catalog for dress options.  It consisted of a cotton print dress in different floral prints. The pinafore was made from white cotton and had a very short empire style bodice at the chest level with the skirt portion gathered at the bodice and decorated in multi-colored rick-rack rows just above the hem. This set has two pieces the under dress and the pinafore piece which are separate pieces and can be interchanged with other pieces in our collection.
 
The underdress is made from a floral yellow  print that is similar to the original print but not an exact replica.  The sleeves are a puffed sleeve with no lace at the bottom and has a cotton double sided pointed collar at the base of the neck. The bodice is self lined and the skirt is a single layer with a deep invisible hem. This dress is made from a premium cotton.  This dress can be worn with the pinafore as shown, it can be worn without the pinafore, it can be worn without the pinafore with an added petticoat to make it super full and fluffy (additional piece in our collection), and it can be interchanged with other pinafores in our collection to change the looks.  
 
The dress has a 2.5" deep hem done with an invisible hem stitch and an approximately 9" long skirt to hit at the thigh, the bodice is self lined and the puffed sleeves have elastic at the bottom. The dress snaps in back.  The original had square snaps however we have used modern snaps for closure.  
 
The white pinafore snaps at the back at the top only and is constructed with the short banded bodice which hits at the bust line and then has the skirt piece gathered high where the bodice ends.  It features one right hand pocket and then three rows of multi-colored rick rack going yellow blue yellow in pattern to match the coloring in the dress print.
 
This dress set is part of the Patti Playpal 
Wardrobe Series by Bbeauty Dolls and has been created as a tribute to the original outfits that debuted from 1959-1961 for the Patti Playpal Dolls. This dress set is not an original but modeled after the original.
 
Dresses will fit Patti Playpal herself and any Companion Dolls that have the same body measurements.
