Fantasy for Dolls - Issue 10 Tin Man

The second look in our "World of Oz Collection" for Bbeauty's Fantasy for Dolls Collaboration is the ever iconic Tin Man!

Going into creating this outfit, I knew I wanted the suit to look as close as it could to being made of tin while still being functional enough for the doll to move in.  That being said, the biggest aspect of this ensemble was making sure to get the right base structure for the tin suit!  I tested out a few different ways of how I could built the suit, first by cutting my pattern pieces out of a thin layer of styrofoam and fitting it to the doll (see photo below)

But after working with it I soon realized that it wasn't going to be as durable as I had hoped.  My next option was to try the same idea, but with a thinner more sturdy layer of craft foam.  This is what the final base structure is made of and once I had that completed it was ready for priming and painting!

The Tin Man's Tin Suit features a long sleeved shirt, leggings, and gloves made from a grey cotton to be worn underneath the main body of the suit.  The body of the suit features a top layer with adjustable shoulders, silver rivits up the front, and a velcro closure at the back for easy on and off.  The legs are made from the same craft foam as the body and painted silver to match.  A set of arm bands and knee bands add an added dimension to the body of this outfit.

Also included are the Tin Man's funnel hat, silver axe, and a pair of Bbeauty boots that have been customized and painted silver to match!  This outfit and additional 4x4 photo print is available for purchase in my Etsy shop at 5PM EST here: https://agdollmagicshop.etsy.com and Bbeauty Subscribers (yes you!) get the opportunity to shop first! Listings will open to the public at 7PM EST.
